The fascinating history of

villa païssa d’en bernat

The first records of Païssa d’en Bernat dates back to 1880 where the farmworkers lived with their family, and the grounds produced almonds, wheat, carobs, and vines. Early last century, the villa was used for scholarship where boys from the local vicinity would walk to in the evenings for readings and mathematics.

Characterized by its high ceilings built on its original stone foundations particular to the Mediterranean architecture, this private villa was completely refurbished in 2008 by engineer and owner Enrique Rey de Viñas, renowned for his distinctive Ibicenco style with Toledo influences inspired by his childhood.

Sadly, only a few of this style of villas remain in good condition today and we are proud to be able to open our doors to those who travel the globe to experience what is traditional to each destination.

Today’s guests can admire the private Ibiza villas interiors influenced by Balinese design that can be seen in its sumptuous suites decorated with four-poster beds, grand wooden tables and carefully carved chests, most of which were hand-crafted by Balinese craftsmen using recycled boat-woods. When stepping onto its outside terraces, the style continues with its two chill-out Gazebo beds, the romantic wooden swings, and the black-stone fountain, that together with the singing of the birds can be the only thing heard within the grounds.

In the evenings family and friends can enjoy the panoramic views as this Ibiza villa has one of the islands most sort-after locations to take in Ibizas’ legendary sunset.
