Set your timings
The very first thing to determine when planning your wedding is your timeline. Trust us — getting this right early will save you time, stress, and last-minute changes! At Païssa, we include your timings in your catering quote, but it’s helpful to approach it with a simple back-to-front method.
Start by confirming your venue’s finishing time, then build the rest of the day backwards from there.
Standard finish time is midnight. An optional extension until 1:00 AM is available for an additional fee of 800€.
Our Recommended Timings
Here’s what we generally suggest allowing for each part of your celebration:
Welcome drinks – 30 minutes
Ceremony – 30 minutes
Post-ceremony drinks & canapés – 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on guest count)
Dinner – 2 to 2.5 hours (depending on menu and service style)
Speeches – 30 minutes (keep them short and sweet!)
Sunset – always factor in at Païssa — it’s a magical moment of the day
Dancing, DJ & Open Bar – 3 to 5 hours, depending on your energy and budget
Sample Timeline
Here’s an example of how your day might look:
3:30 PM – Guests arrive at Païssa d’en Bernat
4:00 – 4:30 PM – Wedding ceremony
4:30 – 6:00 PM – Reception drinks & canapés
6:00 – 9:00 PM – Dinner, speeches & cake cutting
9:00 – 12:00 AM – Sunset cocktail, Open bar, DJ & dancefloor
(Optional: 1:00 AM finish – add-on available)
A Few Tips
-
Plan your bar hours early to stay on budget and avoid last-minute supplier changes.
-
If unsure about adding the extra hour, plan for midnight and decide closer to the date.
-
We recommend starting at 2 PM or 3 PM in the later season (when the days are shorter) to make the most of the daylight. However, for peak months like June, July, and August, we advise starting no earlier than 3 PM due to the heat.
-
For church weddings, check directly with the church for available times and add at least 1 hour to factor in travel time to the venue.
-
Païssa is all-in-one — no need to change locations or rush the flow of your day!
