How does the catering work? What is included?

Catering at Païssa d’en Bernat is provided exclusively by Zest, our trusted long-term partner. They manage all food and beverage services for weddings and events at the villa.

✔ What’s included with Zest catering

Zest provides a full, professional service, including:

• Welcome drink service
• Cocktail hour canapés
• Multi-course seated dinner (or alternative formats such as sharing-style or buffet)
• All bar service (open bar packages, custom cocktails, wine service, etc.)
• Staffing (chefs, bartenders, waiters, runners, supervisors)
• All catering equipment, such as:
  • Plates
  • Cutlery
  • Glassware
  • Serving equipment
  • Kitchen equipment
• Setup and service for the entire event
• Clearing and cleaning of the dining areas
• Coordination with the venue manager on timings and flow
• Dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian, GF, allergies)

Zest is known for excellent food, consistent service and smooth coordination with suppliers.

✔ How pricing works

Zest will prepare a personalised catering quote for you based on:

• Guest numbers
• Menu selection
• Type of bar package
• Duration of the event
• Add-ons (late-night snacks, dessert tables, champagne tower, canapés upgrades, etc.)
• Staffing needs

Catering is typically the largest part of the event budget, so we always recommend discussing priorities early.

✔ Is tasting included?

Yes — if you book Events + Accommodation, a one-night stay + tasting is included during our annual tasting week.

If you are Day Hire only, tastings will also take place during the same week. Usually 2-3 week of October. Email us for further details.

✔ Why can't we choose another caterer?

To ensure high standards, safety, compliance and seamless coordination:

• Only Zest is permitted to cater at Païssa
• Outside caterers are not allowed
• All drinks must also come through Zest

This guarantees food safety, correct staffing, and a consistent guest experience.

✔ Do the catering team use the villa kitchen?

Yes — on event day the kitchen is dedicated exclusively to Zest.

Guests have access only to:

• The microwave
• Tea & coffee station
